Thank you for all the blessings you gave us. Please forgive us our sins especially those which we are unaware of. Let that rain you are pouring today be a source of strength and love for all of us today. This we ask in Mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
When I was in High School, my English teacher and moderator during my freshman year taught us what she calls a “youhoo prayer”. I can’t seem to remember her exact reason for calling it so. But every time we finished reciting each of our composition, we would just say, youhoo! Our teacher (Ma’am Marita Reyes — thanks) told us that we may forget all the other things she taught us, but this one will forever be in our hearts. She’s definitely correct.
It is just a short prayer and it is very personal. It can also serve as a guide if you were asked to lead a prayer in small or big crowd (friends or new community). In fact, if you want it long, it can be expanded depending on what and how you want your prayer to be.
It is compose of the following: one sentence expressing gratefulness or a “thank you line, another sentence asking for forgiveness of sins and a sentence asking for something you want or need. By expanding it you may want to add the sentences per line. What is important is all those contents are found.
